Up to $10,000 in EV Charging Rebates for Apartment Buildings in Woollahra, Waverley & Randwick
Apartment buildings in Woollahra, Waverley and Randwick can now receive funding, with councils covering 50% of the EV charging installation cost, up to $10,000 per building.
Through the Smart Plugs EV Charging Program, eligible strata buildings within the Woollahra Council, Waverley Council and Randwick City Council areas can access financial support to introduce smart EV charging in their apartment buildings.
This funding significantly reduces the upfront investment required from the owners corporation, making EV charging more achievable without placing pressure on building budgets.
Funding is limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

What Are Smart Plugs?
Smart plugs make EV charging possible in apartment car parks without expensive infrastructure upgrades.
Although they look like standard power points, they include built-in features for apartment charging, including:
Mobile app billing and payment
Charging session management and scheduling
Power balancing for constrained electrical circuits
Smart plugs provide Level 1 charging, which is how around 40% of Australian EV drivers charge at home. In strata buildings, Level 1 is often a significantly more practical and cost-effective solution than installing Level 2 wall chargers at every parking space.
As outlined in our product presentation ReadySteadyPlug Product Present…, Level 1 charging is typically fit-for-purpose in apartment buildings where vehicles are parked overnight and major switchboard upgrades are not practical.
